Bob Seager – “When we joined Get Together 15 years ago, we had already lived in France for six years. Although we had got a lot of pleasure from the French friends that we had made, it was a relief to join a group where we could chatter in our native tongue, and it was tremendously useful to be able to compare notes on the complications of the French way of living. During those 15 years we have made many friends and have appreciated the support we have been given when we have had problems. We have enjoyed a wide diversity of events, walks (followed by a meal), quizzes, informative talks, and learning about French history. It is also been a pleasure to be involved in organising these events, which are invariably received with enthusiasm. We are looking forward to the next 15 years!”

Annette Green – “Although we have had our house since 2000, we didn’t really know anyone when we decided to live here permanently in July 2012. A GT member invited us to try one of the walks, I have to admit I was reluctant to start with as it was my full intention to ‘immerse in the French way of life’, however I thought this wasn’t fair to my husband who at the time spoke little french. So, we went on our first walk in September 2012, everyone was very friendly, it has given us an opportunity to see different parts of the Deux Sevres, try different restaurants and take our Labrador for a good walk!  Since then I have joined the Committee as Northern Co-ordinator and have met lots of people, many becoming good friends” -
